Question - What tap adapter should I use with this tap?

Answer - Determine which standard the tap is manufactured to, and click here for a reference chart.

Question - Can the standard holders as shown in the catalog be designed into different envelopes and spindle mountings?

Answer - Yes, the catalog is a basic guide, we have many holders with various mountings not shown in the catalog, and application specific holders are also available.

Answer - Yes, this can easily be accomplished two ways; simply e-mail us a photo, or send us the holder in question for inspection and we will return it the same day.

Question - We have disassembled our holder and lost the ball bearings, can the holder be re-built?

Answer - Yes, we always recommend the holder be returned for audit and to be reassembled with new parts, for a minimal cost, this will also provide an "as new" warranty.

Question - We would like to rebuild the holder ourselves.  Is the assembly print and stock list available?

Answer - Yes parts are available but we always recommend the holder be returned to T.M. Smith for service. We offer same-day turnaround in most cases and factory level service.

Question - We have a drawing for a special holder or arbor shaft.  Can TM Smith add a standard HSK or Steep Taper shank and manufacture it?

Answer - Yes, we manufacture many specials with industry standard shanks for a wide variety of spindle mountings.

Question - Do you make Ziegler, Glenzer, Universal etc holders?

Answer - We can in most cases make a holder or offer a standard holder that will perform the same as our competitors and have the same envelope size like diameter and length but with our design and internal parts.

Answer - No. Our design uses different parts. In most cases we can offer a new T.M. Smith holder that will exceed our competitors holders performance.
